The UAE ranked first in the Arab world and 48th globally in the World Economic Forum's "Energy Transition Index 2025" report, with a score of 58.4 points.

The UAE recorded one of the fastest increases in the country rankings, demonstrating the strength of its clean energy adoption, targeted institutional reforms, and innovation ecosystem, as well as its overcoming global challenges such as grid congestion, high prices, and connectivity bottlenecks. It also achieved the largest improvement in the region and the Middle East (+7.9% year-on-year), driven by increased financial investments, quality infrastructure, and targeted support. It also achieved a rise in the share of clean energy, a decline in energy intensity, and the continued expansion of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, which now provides nearly 25 percent of the country's electricity.
